Efficient Home Staging Ideas To Help You Sell Your Home Faster

Sometimes selling a home is not as easy as you hoped it would be. A slow or declining market. Winter and tons of snow. Too many other homes in your area for sale. All of these things can take the wind out of your sails (and sales) when selling a home. We know that from years of experience and wanted to give everyone a few ideas on how you can make your home memorable and sell fast!

If you are trying to sell your home and things are not working out quite as well as you thought they would, there are still a few things you could try to turn things around. There is a unique buyer psychology at work in those who are looking to purchase a new house. Many think that if a house has been for too long on the market, it is an obvious sign that there is something very wrong with it and so they stay away. This can also influence the price of the house; the sellers will have to keep reducing the price of the house.

However there are many home staging tricks you can use to fight this and get a better price for your home – as well as sell it faster. Here are just a few of them:

Turn all the lights on: If your house is not well lit, things can look dreary and drab, especially if you show your house on a rainy day. Also, a good idea is to add floor lamps or table lamps in rooms that aren’t very well lit.

Set the table nicely: An empty dining room table is surely not attractive. Set it like you would if you had a dinner party, or at least add some fruit bowls or beautiful center pieces to spice it up a bit. It will really change the whole atmosphere in your home.

Mirror, mirror on the wall…: Add more mirrors in the house, as they can make the rooms look more spacious – something any buyer is looking for.

Repaint the walls: Even if the paint on your walls still looks pretty good, if it is in vivid colors it will not offer very good opportunities for staging. Repaint in neutral shades, to create a good canvas for staging. Some colors recommended by experts are: linen white, tan, beige, and even a mild yellow.

Depersonalize your home: It can be difficult for buyers to imagine themselves living in your home if everything in there is a footprint of you and your family. Declutter the rooms and put away pictures or any other objects that scream “you”.

Give your bathroom a facelift: Nothing makes potential clients run away faster than a poorly maintained bathroom. Make sure it is squeaky clean, replace any faucets that aren’t working properly and make sure there is no trace of mold on the walls. Add some potpourri or some scented candles and you’re all set.
Keep these tips in mind and you will surely be able to sell your home faster.

These are pretty simple steps that we  do for our listings which really help buyers emotionally connect with the home. It also helps us get as much as possible during the negotiation process. Hope it helps!
